I am officially a student of Sue Bryce Education!
I have been following Sue Bryce on Facebook and Instagram for several years now. However, I’ve been hiding in the background and not ready to come out of my shell to see what I can learn to do better, and differently this time. I am so excited to finally feel like myself again and ready to focus my attention on what I really love to do: portraits.
Sue is an amazing portrait photographer and I am honored and humbled to be able to follow her and learn from her and all of her followers. She so willingly shares her knowledge for others to learn. I closely follow a couple of Facebook groups and Instagram profiles that have become a Sue Bryce community of talented photographers and creative artists.
I am eager to soak up all knowledge and transform it into my personal portrait photography dream.
Welcome to Mechelle Miracle Photography!
I am so excited to announce that I am starting my photography business again! Yes, I’ve been on a much needed hiatus for the last few years and now I am ready to begin offering Portrait Photography focused on contemporary glamour portraits, professional headshots and personal branding, and family/friends portraiture.
Things will be different this time. I am focusing more on what I truly love and enjoy doing. Lots more details to come….
I am building my website and all the details you will need to know. I am completing training in some specialized areas of focus and gathering equipment and space to be able to do what I am passionate about doing.
If you what to know more, and travel along on this journey with me, make sure to sign up for emails, so you will be the first to know when new information is available.
A dear friend of mine reached out to me on Facebook and asked if I wanted to be a part of her study group she was facilitating this year. It’s a 12 week study of the book The Artist Way by Julia Cameron. The invitation came at a perfect time as I was seeking a way to find myself again. It has opened up my mind, my heart and my life again. One of the basic principles is “Creativity is God’s gift to us. Using our creativity is our gift back to God.” The 2 key action items to develop in our daily lives are (1) Morning Pages and (2) Artist Dates.
Morning Pages are a form of meditation and journaling. By allowing a brain dump onto the journal pages, we are opening up ourselves to our creativity. My Morning Pages have proven themselves to be life changing, and I started mine at a key time in my life. Several life events have happened since starting my Morning Pages and I have been able to work through these life changing events and document my thoughts, feelings and story. It has also opened my eyes and my heart to my true passion and love: portraits.
Artist Dates are a much needed action to keep me learning, exploring and discovering my true artist within. It is vital to take time for me to develop my artist. For so long I have harbored ill feelings toward myself and found various excuses as to why I was not an artist. Thankfully I have found my artist within and I now cherish her. I am developing her and giving her space to create and live colorfully. Developing and accepting my artist is a journey and I will focus on the journey and not the length of the trip. I will continue to learn and grow everyday. I will continue to “fill my well” by giving my artist attention. I will work with what I have.
A couple of other things I learned and take to heart are the reminders that “all work is influenced by other work” and “originality is the process of remaining true to ourselves”. Those things and people that inspire me are what give me my insight to my creativity. We must actively, consciously, consistently, and creatively nurture our artist selves.
I highly recommend the book, The Artist Way, by Julia Cameron. It has truly been life-changing for me.
